The concept of remix is one of the most transversal in underground culture, branching out into all its creative expressions such as music, urban art or dance for example. The idea of twisting, mixing and re-assembling what already exists in order to make it more impactful and “new” is a challenge, aalso taken up by artist Ian Wood, who starting from that very imagery calls himself a “remix artist.”
The starting point is the United States, where Wood was born and whom he knows, having lived between Illinois, Dallas, and Florida. The way in which the artist then interpreted the concept of remix was fostered by his deepening towards collage, a technique first developed digitally and then also with handmade cutouts.
